Alistair is a highly experienced and reputable IP practitioner.
Alistair is a registered Australian and New Zealand patent and trade mark attorney and is also a UK solicitor (non-practising). He began his career in 2001 as a systems and software engineer before moving to a leading London-based law firm specialising in intellectual property and commercial legal matters. During this time, Alistair was involved in several high profile legal matters, including notable patent disputes and IP licensing and commercialisation arrangements.
Since moving to Australia in 2011, Alistair has worked with some of Australia's leading IP lawyers and patent attorneys and has assisted local and international clients to help them obtain patent protection in technical fields that include:
Alistair has also worked with local and international clients to help them secure and maintain trade mark protection for their brands. This includes leading digital marketing agencies, hardware retail providers, health service providers and global restaurant chains.
Darren is a consultant to Markmans and assists clients with funding (including grant applications and R&D tax incentives), project management, innovation strategy and technical due diligence. Darren has a wealth of experience in R&D and IP commercialisation. He has worked with a broad variety of organisations, from start-ups to RD&E bodies, for over 20 years.
Darren has a particular interest in WA’s growing AgTech economy. He was previously the General Manager, and a Panel Member, at the Federal Government's Grains Research and Development Corporation. Darren is currently a University Associate at Curtin University and a Board Member of Morawa Agricultural College, WA.
Darren is also the founder and managing director of AgriGrow, a Perth-based company providing independent advice to AgTech startups, research organisations and private enterprises.
